Head of Military Operations and Regional Aerodromes (80-100%)

Your mission:
Lead the delivery, safety and performance of Air Traffic Services for military and regional aerodrome operations while driving the modernization of technical infrastructure and ensuring effective governance of quality, safety and financial performance.

Your tasks:

Air Traffic Services

  • Ensure the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of Air Traffic Services for the Swiss Air Force and regional aerodromes.
  • Drive operational performance and continuous improvement across all units within the division.

Technology Roadmap

  • Lead the development and implementation of the technology renewal roadmap for regional aerodromes.
  • Collaborate closely with armasuisse, Kdo Cy and other stakeholders on military technology projects.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with civil and military regulators and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance.

Finance

  • Develop and manage the division's budget in alignment with the COO and ensure activities remain within approved financial targets.

Quality Management

  • Lead process management activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the division.
  • Ensure maintenance processes are aligned with skyguide standards and requirements.
  • Ensure all operational procedures are documented, maintained and applied in accordance with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.

Safety Management

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safety priorities are clearly communicated throughout the division.
  • Ensure adherence to the skyguide Safety Management System and achievement of required safety performance objectives.
  • Coordinate and align safety-related matters with the SAF Safety Management System.
  • Hold safety accountability for all units within the division, including Les Eplatures aerodrome.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in an air navigation service provider environment.
  • Experience working with military organizations and stakeholders would be an advantage.
  • Fluent in English, French and German.
  • Flair for negotiations, dealing with unions and regulatory authorities.
